DAO Experimentation Program – Documentation

Member Roles and Contribution

Estimated reading: 3 minutes 11 views

The DAO Experimentation Program is designed to be inclusive and flexible. Instead of rigid assignments, participants are encouraged to choose roles that align with their skills, interests, and availability — and to evolve their contributions over time.

This page outlines the typical roles available across the DAOs, examples of contributions, and how participation is recognized using Kambria Token (KAT).

Role Philosophy

  • Roles are self-selected or team-assigned through open coordination.
  • Most members will participate in more than one role during the program.
  • Roles are not hierarchical — each is valued as part of the full DAO ecosystem.
  • Contribution is based on action, not title.

Key Roles Across DAOs

Proposer

Submits ideas or initiatives for DAO members to consider, vote on, and implement. Examples:

  • Proposing a local tree-planting campaign
  • Designing a meal distribution plan
  • Organizing a TECD session series for seniors

Voter

Reviews and votes on submitted proposals using equal voting power. Examples:

  • Voting YES/NO on project funding requests
  • Participating in DAO-wide decisions
  • Providing feedback on proposals before voting

Executor

Implements an approved action on behalf of the DAO. Examples:

  • Planting trees or distributing meals
  • Hosting TECD calls or supporting logistics
  • Managing on-the-ground tasks

Documenter

Tracks and shares evidence of completed work and impact. Examples:

  • Taking photos or short videos
  • Submitting receipts or activity logs
  • Completing a reporting form after action

Storyteller

Reflects on personal experience and shares insights, stories, or emotions from participation. Examples:

  • Writing a short narrative about a tree planting day
  • Recording a voice message about working with seniors
  • Submitting a reflection to the shared archive

Facilitator

Coordinates communications and task flow within a DAO. Examples:

  • Setting up regular check-ins
  • Sharing proposal deadlines or updates
  • Nudging others to take action or ask questions

Supporter

Helps others complete their work and offers peer support. Examples:

  • Translating documents or conversations
  • Helping submit a proposal for someone with limited access
  • Joining another team’s event or reflecting on their story

Contribution & KAT Recognition

Contributions are rewarded with Kambria Token (KAT), based on action taken. The goal is to recognize and encourage participation, not create competition.

To support onboarding and alignment across DAOs, each DAO begins with a predefined list of action types and suggested KAT values. Please refer to the KAT rewards section in each DAO page.

  • Grow Together DAO
  • Nourish DAO
  • Connect DAO
  • Reflection DAO

As the project evolves, DAOs are empowered to propose and vote to adjust their KAT reward structure. This promotes decentralization while maintaining shared standards.

Adjustments should follow these cross-DAO alignment principles here.

Contribution Tracker will be shared with all participants to transparently record and verify contributions. Final rewards may be distributed monthly or at project milestones.

Evolving Participation

Members are invited to shift roles throughout the program. For example:

  • A voter may later become an executor
  • A proposer may take on storytelling after their action
  • A facilitator may hand off their role to someone new

This flexible system encourages learning, peer support, and co-ownership of DAO success.
