DAO Experimentation Program – Documentation

How It Works

Estimated reading: 3 minutes 10 views

This program is designed to help participants experience and shape real-world DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) models through short-term, impact-driven projects. Each DAO runs as a collective, making decisions together, managing a shared fund, and delivering outcomes based on collaboration and trust.

This page explains how the DAO Experimentation Program works step by step — from joining, to proposing, voting, executing, and reflecting.

Program Overview

  • Four DAOs are active in this cycle: Grow Together DAO, Nourish DAO, Connect DAO, and Reflection DAO.
  • Each DAO is assigned a $3,000 fund in crypto USDT (except Reflection DAO with $1,000–$2,000).
  • Each DAO has approximately 50 members (20–30 for Reflection DAO).
  • The DAO functions are coordinated using DAO tooling, communication platforms, and shared documentation.
  • The program runs over a 6-month period, with DAO execution taking place in August - September 2025.

Key Principles

  • Decentralized decision-making: no central authority determines what happens; members propose and vote.
  • Transparent coordination: all actions and fund use are recorded and reviewed.
  • Real-world outcomes: DAOs exist to execute community service and impact-based goals.
  • Contribution recognition system: Kambria Tokens (KAT) are granted to recognize member contributions — not as payment, but as a record of meaningful involvement.

Member Journey

  1. Onboard and Join a DAO: Members receive onboarding materials, set up a wallet, choose or are assigned to one of the four DAOs, and claim their initial role(s).
  2. Submit or Support Proposals: Members propose actions to help fulfill their DAO's goal (e.g. “Plant 100 trees,” “Host 20 TECD sessions”). Others review, ask questions, and prepare to vote.
  3. Vote on Proposals: Each DAO uses a simple voting process where every member has equal say. Approved proposals unlock micro-grants from the DAO fund.
  4. Execute and Contribute: Executors (as in the proposal) carry out the approved action. Others may support with documentation, coordination, or storytelling.
  5. Report and Reflect: All actions are documented with simple forms, photos, and reflections. This enables accountability and shared learning.
  6. Earn recognition represented by KAT Tokens: Based on actions taken, members earn Kambria Tokens as recognition. Rewards are predefined per role and action type.
  7. Share Your Story (Optional): Members are invited to submit stories, insights, or emotional reflections to Reflection DAO. These stories may be showcased and earn additional KAT.

DAO Process Flow

  • Propose: Member submits initiative idea with plan and budget
  • Vote: DAO reviews and votes
  • Fund: Micro-grant approved from DAO treasury
  • Act: Member or group carries out the work
  • Document: Impact is recorded and shared
  • Recognition: KAT distributed based on verified contribution
  • Reflect: Stories and learnings submitted to Reflection DAO

What’s Expected from Participants

  • Commit 2–4 hours per week during execution phase
  • Attend regular DAO meetings (optional but encouraged)
  • Collaborate respectfully with diverse participants
  • Be transparent about progress and challenges
  • Reflect honestly, whether or not the action succeeds
