XDAO Common Technical Issues

This guide summarizes some common technical issues & provides some solutions participants may encounter when using XDAO for voting and DAO management within the DEP Program.

1. Wallet Mismatch (GT Token Not Assigned to the Connected Wallet) 

Sometimes, your MetaMask wallet connected to XDAO does not match the wallet you registered in the DEP system before, leading to the participant not seeing their GT (Governance Token) balance and being unable to vote.

Solution:

  • Double-check whether the connected wallet is the same as one registered for your DEP participation before or not.
  • If you are using the wrong wallet, switch to your registered wallet in MetaMask.
  • Once switched, refresh XDAO and try voting again - the GT balance should appear correctly.

2. MetaMask Wallet Not Connected to XDAO

The participant has not connected their MetaMask wallet to the XDAO platform.

Solution:

  • Visit your DAO link on XDAO.
  • Click “Connect Wallet” on the top right corner.
  • Select MetaMask and approve the connection request.
  • Once connected, refresh the page - you should now be able to see the DAO information and vote.

3. Forgotten Wallet Password


A participant forgets their MetaMask wallet password and cannot access their wallet.

Solution:

  • Try to find your secret recovery phrase - to restore your wallet on MetaMask and continue using it normally.
  • If your recovery phrase is lost, the wallet cannot be recovered. In this case:
    • The participant should create a new MetaMask wallet & contact your DAO Facilitators for your new address.

  • Kambria Team, as the DAO Manager, will remove your old wallet and add the new wallet address to the DAO member list in XDAO.

4. MetaMask Wallet Signed Out / Session Expired


In some cases, the MetaMask extension automatically signs out or expires after being idle for a while (without user interaction). As a result, even though the wallet seems connected to XDAO, transactions (like voting) fail. 

Solution:

  • Open your MetaMask extension and ensure you are signed in.
  • If signed out, enter your password and log in again to your wallet.
  • Reconnect your wallet to XDAO by clicking “Connect Wallet” again (if needed).
  • Refresh the XDAO page and try voting once more.


Additional Tips

  • Always use the same browser and device for consistency.
  • Clear browser cache if the site behaves unexpectedly.
  • If problems persist, contact the DEP IT Support Team with:
    • Screenshot of the issue
    • Your registered wallet address
    • DAO name (e.g., Nourish DAO, Reflection DAO)
