When Ideas Take Shape: Highlights from the Proposal Working Phase

After the Kickoff Event, DAO Members officially entered one of the most dynamic stages of the DAO Experimentation Program - the Proposal Working Phase. This was the time when ideas turned into action, discussions deepened, and leadership naturally emerged across DAOs.

From Concepts to Concrete Proposals

During this Phase, Members from the four DAOs - Grow Together, Connect, Nourish, and Reflection - began drafting their initial proposals. These proposals represented collective visions on how decentralized collaboration can address real-world challenges in various areas.

DAO Members exchanged ideas, raised concerns, and engaged in Q&A discussions to clarify their goals and approaches. Each conversation reflected not only diverse expertise but also a shared commitment to create meaningful, community-driven impact.

Collaboration in Action

Internal DAO meetings became the heartbeat of this period. Within each team, Members actively contributed thoughts, refined frameworks, and supported one another through open dialogue. The discussions were often vibrant - filled with brainstorming energy, thoughtful debate, and moments of alignment.

Many Members also volunteered to take leadership roles within their teams - guiding coordination, ensuring progress, and representing their DAOs in cross-team discussions. This spirit of initiative demonstrated what decentralized governance truly means: leadership that emerges from participation and trust.

🌞 Insightful Sharing from Partners

During the internal meetings among Members, we had the opportunity to listen, observe, and take note of many meaningful insights shared by our Partners. These reflections have been invaluable in helping DAO Members further refine their team proposals.

In this article, we are delighted to share some key takeaways from Mr. Amit Saha, one of our Local Delivery Partners, who provided thought-provoking perspectives to the Members of Grow Together DAO. We hope these insights will not only benefit our DAO participants but also inspire the broader community.

🌱 Expert Insights from Mr. Amit Saha: Strengthening Sustainable Project Design

During our recent meeting, Mr. Amit Saha, representing the FOGS Global Research and Consultancy Centre, shared valuable feedback and professional guidance to help enhance the structure and execution of our 2 projects in Kenya and the Philippines.

Mr. Saha congratulated both teams for their promising proposals and meaningful local initiatives. Drawing from his organization’s experience in sustainable food systems and plant-based development, he emphasized several key areas to strengthen their project frameworks:

1. Clear Role Assignments and Governance

Each project should clearly define who is responsible for which component, including reporting lines, task ownership, and control mechanisms. This ensures smooth coordination, accountability, and effective monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.

2. Specific Project Context and Location Details

Given the agro-biological nature of these projects, it’s essential to describe each site’s agroclimatic characteristics - including soil type, rainfall, temperature, and social context - to provide a strong foundation for sustainable outcomes.

3. Structured Timeline and Monitoring Tools

Mr. Saha recommended using a Gantt chart to visualize project phases, timelines, and milestones. This approach makes it easier to track progress, overlap between tasks, and completion deadlines.

4. Impact-Oriented and Visually Engaging Proposals

Beyond physical outputs, project proposals should also highlight social and environmental impacts - ideally supported by diagrams or infographics to help attract attention from sponsors and partners.

5. Reflection, Learning, and Risk Management

Every project carries potential risks. Anticipating these early - based on literature or previous experiences - helps teams plan effective mitigation and backup strategies (Plan B, Plan C) for smoother implementation.

6. Scientific Detailing of Crop Species

For each proposed crop, Mr. Saha suggested documenting the growth requirements - temperature, rainfall, soil nutrients, drought resistance, propagation, disease control, and life cycle stages. These details not only ensure better resilience but also help replicate success across regions.

7. Building Global Collaboration and Membership

Finally, Mr. Amit Saha introduced FOGS Global’s platform, where organizations can become members (via a small annual fee) to access technical consultancy, project monitoring, and collaboration opportunities across multiple countries.

🚀 Looking Ahead

As the Proposal Working Phase comes to a close, DAO Members have not only shaped promising project ideas - they’ve also built the foundation of decentralized teamwork. These experiences will carry forward into the next stages of DEP, where proposals will be reviewed, refined, and prepared for community voting.

Each conversation, question, and initiative has brought us one step closer to proving that when we collaborate differently, we can impact meaningfully.

Standing Beside Our DAO Members - Every Step of the Way

Throughout the Proposal Development Phase, DAO Facilitators from each DAO stood side by side with Members – guiding discussions, collecting Q&As, sharing insights and feedback, organizing internal meetings, and keeping the team spirit alive. Their presence ensured that every DAO Member had the support, clarity, and encouragement needed to turn ideas into well-structured proposals.

Looking back, we feel deeply grateful and proud to have accompanied our Members on this journey - from the first sparks of ideas to concrete proposals that bring value to the community. It has also been a truly rewarding experience for each of us in the DEP Team. Not only did we witness the growth and creativity of DAO Members, but we also learned new knowledge, built meaningful connections, and strengthened our shared belief in a future shaped by decentralization and collective impact.
