Welcome to the DAO Operating Playbook

This playbook is your guide to how we work together inside each DAO.
It’s designed to be simple, flexible, and action-focused — helping you make decisions, collaborate, and move projects forward as a decentralized team.

Governance Flow

How a proposal becomes action:

IDEA → PROPOSAL → VOTING → EXECUTION → REPORTING → REFLECTION

  1. Draft a Proposal
    • Use the provided DAO Proposal Template
    • Include: purpose, requested budget (if any), expected outcomes
  2. Submit Proposal
    • Submit via the DAO’s XDAO platform (Send Token or Proposal Voting)
  3. Voting Period
    • DAO members review and vote
    • Simple majority wins (unless otherwise specified)
  4. Execution
    • If approved, DAO members implement the action
    • If funding is needed, DAO multisig executes token transfer
  5. Reporting
    • After execution, submit a simple DAO Report (via the Report Form)
    • Track contribution points (KAT Tracker)

Decision-Making Cadence

Phase Expected Activity
Weekly Proposal drafting, discussions in Discord
Every 2 Weeks Voting on proposals
Monthly Summary reports submitted by facilitators
End of Program Final reports + reflections

✅ You don’t have to wait — if urgent decisions arise, proposals can be submitted anytime.

Reporting Expectations

  • Proposals → Submitted via XDAO platform
  • Reports → Submitted via DAO Report Form
  • Impact Logs → Captured via DAO Impact Tracker (if relevant)

DAO Facilitators and Reflection DAO Leads will guide you, but every member is encouraged to document and celebrate DAO progress!

DAO Code of Collaboration

As DAO members, we uphold these simple principles:

  • Voice Every Voice
Every perspective matters. We listen with curiosity, not judgment.

  • Decide Together, Act Together
We honor the will of the community and move in trust once votes are cast.

  • Transparency Over Assumption
We document and share openly to prevent misunderstandings.

  • Conflict is Opportunity
Disagreements are seeds for deeper growth, not obstacles.

  • Celebrate Contributions, Big or Small
Every action moves us forward — and deserves recognition.

  • Growth Is the Goal
Beyond funding, beyond voting, we are here to grow: skills, wisdom, and connection.

Together, we are not just executing tasks —
We are weaving a new way to create, govern, and belong.

Conflict Handling Framework

Disagreements are natural in any collaboration.
Here's our light DAO approach:

Step Action
1. Acknowledge Respectfully recognize the disagreement.
2. Dialogue Move discussion to a designated Discord thread or call.
3. Mediate DAO Facilitators can help moderate neutrally if needed.
4. Propose Solutions Seek a proposal both sides can support.
5. Vote if Needed If no agreement is reached, submit proposals and let DAO members vote fairly.

Principle:

  • Curiosity > Assumption.
  • Collaboration > Competition.
  • Growth > Blame.
