𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐀𝐎 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐄𝐏 𝟏

One of the most heartfelt moments when we look back was captured in the 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐜 – 𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐄𝐏 𝟏 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞.

From muddy hillsides where trees were planted, to warm meals shared with communities, to seniors joining digital sessions, and DAO members working late across time zones – every frame carried dedication, care, and quiet perseverance.

   🔹 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐀𝐎 executed reforestation initiatives through 𝟐 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐬, with Group A planting indigenous, fruit, ornamental, and herbal trees in Kisumu City, Kenya (RIAT Hills, Kisumu Impala Sanctuary, and Obunga), and Group B implementing native tree planting in the Mt. Balagbag mountain range in the Philippines.

   🔹 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐃𝐀𝐎 delivered digital connection and memory game sessions for seniors in Enugu, Nigeria, using the TECD platform to foster intergenerational engagement through community-based participation.

   🔹 𝐍𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐃𝐀𝐎 implemented community feeding initiatives through 𝟐 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐬, with Group 1 distributing nutritious meals across multiple communities in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and Group 2 conducting multi-day meal distributions for children and families across barangays and resettlement communities on Siargao Island, Philippines.

   🔹 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐀𝐎 documented impact and learning by collecting and editing reflections from DAO members and beneficiaries across Kenya, the Philippines, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone.

Watching the video was deeply moving. It reminded us that DEP 1 wasn’t just about proposals or execution, but about people showing up for one another, often behind the scenes, to create real social impact together.

A moment to pause, feel grateful, and celebrate the collective journey we’ve built – across borders, cultures, and communities. 💛
