Project Execution & Proposals

Estimated reading: 6 minutes 40 views

1. Since we are in different parts of the world, when it comes to organizing different outreaches, will an individual in a location be responsible for planning and execution, or can the individual recruit other people that will be interested in helping out?

Each DAO will need to decide how responsibilities are divided. Typically, an individual in a location will take responsibility for leading the execution of activities on the ground.

Other DAO members will still play important roles such as planning, coordination, follow-up, and reporting to ensure everything aligns with the DAO’s mission.

At the same time, you are absolutely encouraged to recruit additional support - whether from friends, volunteers, or local organizations - to help with the planning and execution. This way, you won’t be doing it alone, and the activity can have a greater impact.

2. Will there be funds to facilitate the activities like planting of trees, or distributing meals? / Will the activities of the project be funded?

Yes. Each working group is allocated 1,000 USDT for Grow Together DAO (1,500 USDT for Nourish DAO), disbursed in two phases:

  • First payment (70% = 700 USDT): October 27–31
  • Second payment (30% = 300 USDT): December 8–19

These funds are meant to cover all essential activities required for your project implementation.

3. When are we sending our proposals?

The deadline for submitting the final proposal is October 10. Before that, you are encouraged to submit a draft proposal by October 3 to your DAO Facilitators for feedback and improvements.

4. Which cities are we going to work in?

The DEP projects are global in nature and not tied to a single city.

Each DAO (e.g., Grow Together, Nourish, Connect) will have members from different countries who will decide together which countries or cities to work in and coordinate actions locally and present in your proposals. The proposals will be then reviewed by Kambria for verification and alignment before execution.

5. Will the execution of the project be in one location?

The execution may happen in multiple locations depending on where participants are and how they organize outreach with local partners.

However, for projects that require intense on-site coordination, we believe one location would ease the execution. If you know how to collaborate from many places, feel free to suggest!

6. I want to know if every member in the group is going to submit his or her own proposal, or if it is going to be a joint proposal?

The proposals are developed at the DAO level, not individually. That means:

  • Each DAO works together to co-create and submit a joint proposal.
  • Members contribute ideas, research, and content, but the final proposal is collective, representing the whole DAO rather than separate individual submissions.

7. Where can we find the link to TECD Docs?

You can find the TECD Docs via this link: https://kambria.io/docs/tecd-en/overview-of-tecd/

8. It was mentioned that payments to suppliers are in USD, will the DAOs be needing official receipts from the suppliers?

If yes: then the suppliers will need to write down the name of the company it is “selling” the supplies to. (But if the company is a NGO or B-Corp, then taxes do not apply).

As this is a DAO Experimentation Program, the DAOs operate on a blockchain framework.

Payments are not made directly from Kambria to suppliers. Instead: Each DAO will disburse funds in USDT via MetaMask to the approved DAO member (the proposer).

That DAO member is then responsible for executing their project (together with their group), including making payments to suppliers. Because of this structure, Kambria or DAOs do not need official receipts from the suppliers

9. How to upload via XDAO?

You can follow the step-by-step instructions in the DEP Documentation to submit your proposal on XDAO: https://kambria.io/docs/dep/onboarding-hub-participants-only/xdao-quick-start-guide/

10. How will the transfer of funds be classified as (donation? For services? Etc)?

  • DEP fund transfers are token-based experimental support within the DAO framework, not classified as donations or service payments.
  • They are distributed to DAO members as part of project execution under the program’s decentralized governance.
  • Each member remain accountable for complying with their local tax laws on digital assets.
  • Kambria does not define or report these transfers under any tax category.

11. Will the XDAO links be provided?

Yes. The DEP Documentation includes specific XDAO links for each DAO. Please refer to this section for details: https://kambria.io/docs/dep/onboarding-hub-participants-only/

12. How proposals will be prioritized and selected?

If by “prioritized” you mean qualification for voting, we use a Proposal Qualification Checklist, which was communicated at the start of the program. You can review it here.
👉 Proposal Qualification Checklist: https://kambria.io/docs/dep/proposals-and-reporting/proposal-qualification-checklist/

If by “selected” you mean the final decision, it will be determined entirely by DAO-member voting through XDAO.

13. What measurements are being used for selecting the target location where the projects are implemented?

It is up to each group to propose their project locations. Sites should be suitable for the chosen tree species—considering environmental conditions such as sunlight, soil type, and moisture—to ensure healthy growth and long-term survival.

14. Given the recent low turnout and limited participation from some members, which may affect the voting threshold and overall decision-making process, what measures will be taken to address this challenge?

Specifically, how will the DAO handle situations where participants are unwilling or unable to fully engage or perform their assigned roles, and what impact will that have on the final outcomes of the project or voting process?

We acknowledge the recent low turnout and limited participation from some members, which can affect the voting threshold and collective progress.

To address this, our first approach is 1-1 checkins with inactive members aiming to increase activeness.

After that, members who remain inactive or fail to fulfill their roles without valid reasons may be subject to review and removal following the Member Termination Policy.

At the same time, we strongly encourage DAO groups to break down project outcomes or activities so that different DAO members can take ownership of specific parts. By that, everyone can see clearly how they can contribute and proactively participate.
