XDAO Quick Start Guide

Submit proposals, vote, and manage DAO activity

XDAO is the platform you’ll use to collaborate with your DAO: propose actions, vote on them, and receive funding when approved.

You don’t need to know any coding or crypto mechanics — just follow this guide.

Step 1: Open Your DAO Page

Each DAO has a separate link on XDAO (check DAO-specific links in Onboarding Hub page). 

Open your DAO’s page using Chrome with MetaMask installed.

Step 2: Connect Your Wallet

1. Click Connect Wallet (top right)
2. MetaMask will pop up — approve the connection
3. Make sure you are connected to the correct network (Polygon)

You’re now inside your DAO space.

Step 3: View Proposals

1. On your DAO page, scroll down to the Proposals section
2. You’ll see a list of current and past proposals with:
   • Title
   • Status (pending, approved, declined)
   • Voting deadline
   • Votes summary

Click any proposal to view full details.

Step 4: Vote on a Proposal

1. Click into a proposal
2. Read the description carefully
3. Click Vote FOR or Vote AGAINST
4. MetaMask will prompt you to confirm (no gas fee if it’s a voting-only action)
5. Your vote is submitted

You can only vote once per proposal, and each member has equal voting power.

Step 5: Submit Your Own Proposal

(For budget requests or action approval)

1. From your DAO’s main page, click “Send Token” for proposals with budget request, or “Proposals” for proposals without budget request
2. This opens the proposal creation form

Fill out the following:

• • Recipient: Your own wallet address (or someone you trust to execute)
  • Amount: How much crypto you are requesting (in BNB or MATIC, based on network)
  • Description: Copy your proposal (title, goals, execution plan, budget). Use the Proposal Template provided in Proposals and Reporting page
  • Voting Period: Usually 3–5 days (ask your facilitator if unsure)

1. Click Create Proposal
2. MetaMask will ask you to sign — approve the transaction

Now your proposal is live, and DAO members can vote on it.

Step 6: After Proposal Approval

1. You’ll receive the approved funds in your wallet
2. Carry out the action as described
3. Submit a report via the Report Submission Form (check DAO-specific links in Onboarding Hub page).

Tips & Reminders

• Always confirm you’re on the correct network (Polygon)
• Proposals must include a clear action, budget, and outcome
• Don’t share your wallet’s Secret Recovery Phrase
• Reach out in Discord if you need help writing or submitting a proposal
