DAO Experimentation Program – Documentation

Tools and Onboarding

Estimated reading: 3 minutes 9 views

This page outlines the tools you'll use during the program, what to expect during onboarding, and how to set yourself up to participate confidently — even if this is your first time working with DAO tools or Web3 systems.

We’re here to guide you step by step.

Tools You’ll Use

The program is designed to be simple and beginner-friendly. Here are the core tools we’ll use across all DAOs:

1. XDAO

Used to submit and vote on proposals, and manage DAO treasury.
You’ll receive:

  • Instructions on how to join your DAO space
  • A walkthrough on how to submit proposals using the "Send Token" voting feature
  • Guidance on how to vote on others' proposals

2. MetaMask Wallet

You’ll need a MetaMask wallet to:

  • Receive funds if your proposal is approved
  • Interact with the DAO platform (XDAO)
  • Receive KAT as contribution rewards (where applicable)

If you’ve never used MetaMask before, we’ll guide you through the setup process.

3. Google Drive

Used for shared folders and trackers, including:

  • Report submission form
  • KAT contribution tracker
  • Folder for uploading photos and documents

4. Communication Platforms

Each DAO has a shared space on Kambria Discord (Category: DAO Experimentation Program)

  • Channel: general-dep for general discussion
  • Dedicated channels per DAO for internal coordination
  • Voice channels for optional sync calls

5. Google Sheets

Used by DAO facilitators to track:

  • Contribution records
  • Proposal and report logs
  • Reflections and story submissions

What Happens During Onboarding

Once you're selected, onboarding will take place in early July and will be coordinated primarily through this Documentation Site.

  1. Welcome Kit: This Documentation site will serve as your welcome kit. You’ll find:
  • Your DAO’s mission and timeline
  • Expectations and participation guide
  • DAO member roles and contribution system
  1. Tools Setup Support: Also on this Documentation site, you’ll find:
  • Step-by-step guides to set up MetaMask
  • How to join your DAO on XDAO
  • How to access Discord and shared folders
  • Demo videos or screenshots where needed
  1. Orientation Meeting (Optional): A live onboarding session to meet the team, ask questions, and walk through tools together.
  2. Access to Contribution Trackers: You’ll be linked to your DAO’s tracker to start logging your participation and KAT earned.

Support Channels

Throughout the program, you can reach out for help via:

  • Discord: #general-dep or your DAO’s channel
  • Email: [email protected]
  • Peer support within your DAO
  • Office hours or optional sync meetings

No Prior Experience? No Problem.

You don’t need to be a developer, crypto user, or blockchain expert to participate.
We’ve designed this program for real people to explore what DAOs can be — together.

If you can:

  • Coordinate a simple action
  • Communicate with your peers

Show up with consistency and care
…you’ll do great.
