Become a Theme Sponsor

Estimated reading: 7 minutes 257 views

A Theme Sponsor funds a CED themed program, so the learners it is designed for can take part for free.

A themed program focuses CED's live, one-on-one sessions on one skill area that matters to a community, for a defined group of learners, over a defined period. Learners join as Explorers at no cost, and verified Guides are paid for every completed session. Learners are encouraged to take an organic next step afterward — applying what they learned in their own community, continuing with further sessions, or becoming Guides themselves — so what you fund keeps circulating rather than ending with the last session.

A Theme Sponsor is different from a Community Partner, who helps CED reach and welcome Explorers and Guides rather than funding a program.

The current themed program

Community Self-Governance Skills Program — part of Kambria's DAO Experimentation Program (DEP 3), mid-April to mid-August 2027.

  • Who learns: around 30 community leads of local communities, free of charge.
  • How: about 200 one-on-one sessions — a six-session core track plus up to two electives per lead — each producing a real piece of work for the lead's own community.
  • Cost: about $3,000 for the full program.

Curriculum, sample session, terms, and timeline: DEP 3 → Call for Theme Sponsors (CED).

Who Can Become a Theme Sponsor?

Sponsor type What you are looking for
Companies with CSR or ESG commitments A community investment with clear inputs, outputs, and outcomes that holds up in impact reporting — and an optional way for your people to share their expertise as Guides.
Foundations & NGOs A bounded, verifiable unit of impact: a defined cohort, a defined budget, and results checked against platform records.
Web3 treasuries, DAO platforms & mission-aligned DAOs Public-goods funding with traceable on-chain flows, and outcomes that grow the number of people able to use decentralized tools in practice.

Networks and collectives are welcome too, with one named contact. Contributions are made in stablecoins (USDT), so you need to be able to send them where you operate.

How Sponsorship Works

You can sponsor at two levels:

  • Lead Sponsor — funds a full program.
  • Co-sponsor — contributes from $1,000; several Co-sponsors together fund a program.

Your contribution goes into the CED Learning Fund, ring-fenced for that program. It pays verified Guides $6 per completed session (CED's current pilot rate) and the program work around each session — building the curriculum, recruiting and matching learners, delivering the sessions, and reporting. A session costs about $15 all-in.

Sponsorship is funding only. It funds the program for the learners; it is not a service CED sells to you, and it does not give ownership of CED or of the program.

Your people as Guides (optional). If people in your organization have the right expertise, they are welcome to apply as Guides on the same terms as every Guide: CED's standard verification, matching to learners by topic and need, and payment under the program's general policy. Anyone who prefers not to be paid can waive it, and the amount stays in the program. Their guiding does not change your contribution or sponsor level.

Where Does Your Support Go?

You can trace your contribution from the wallet to the sessions it funded.

Step What happens
1. Scope We agree in writing on the program, the learners, the timeline, your contribution, and what your report will contain.
2. Contribute You send USDT to a dedicated CED Learning Fund wallet, held for CED by Kambria during the pilot. Its balance and every transaction are public on-chain.
3. Release Funds are released to the DAO in stages as the program runs, not all at once.
4. Deliver Verified Guides deliver the sessions; learners join free; Guides are paid per completed session through the Kambria DAOs Framework.
5. Report You receive a mid-program progress note and an end-of-program impact report.

If the program costs less than planned, unused funds roll forward into CED's next program in the same theme, and we report this to you.

What You Receive

Every Theme Sponsor receives:

  • An impact report — sessions delivered, learners reached, completion, session feedback, a before/after self-assessment, Explorer-to-Guide transitions, and organic next steps, verifiable against platform records; plus, with consent, two or three participant stories. Your report shows the share your contribution funded — for example, "your $1,000 funded 65 of the 200 sessions."
  • Recognition — your name, logo, and a short description on Our Collaboration Network; credit in the program's reports and materials and at the program showcase; and a sponsor certificate.
  • A named contact at CED, and a clear view of how your contribution is used.

If your people serve as Guides, you also receive their contribution documented: sessions led, aggregated learner feedback, a short write-up (with their consent), and a certificate of contribution.

Core sessions stay neutral and tool-agnostic. Every proposed elective is reviewed by CED and Kambria, must teach a practical skill rather than promote a product, and is offered to learners as a choice, never a requirement.

How It Supports Your Impact Goals

  • CSR and ESG (social pillar): clear inputs, outputs, and outcomes — the structure community-investment frameworks such as B4SI use.
  • SDG alignment: each program maps to the goals it serves most directly. The current program aligns with SDG 16.7 (participatory decision-making), SDG 11.3 (participatory community planning), SDG 4.7 (education for active citizenship), SDG 10 (reduced inequalities), and SDG 17 (partnerships).
  • Verifiable by design: contributions arrive on-chain, Guide payments run through the Kambria DAOs Framework, and session figures come from platform records.

Reporting Cadence

When What you receive
Mid-program A short progress note: sessions booked and delivered, and early feedback.
End of program The full impact report, the share your contribution funded, and two or three participant stories (with consent).

Theme Sponsor — Collaboration Timeline

From first conversation to impact report, in four phases. For the current program's dates, see Collaboration Timeline (CED) in DEP 3.

Phase 1: Scoping & alignment Phase 2: Commitment & onboarding Phase 3: Program delivery Phase 4: Impact & renewal
CED (supported by Kambria during the pilot) Qualify the sponsor; agree a written scope: theme, learners, program size, contribution, and reporting. Confirm the agreement; share the wallet address and confirm receipt on-chain; run onboarding; collect logo and description; add the sponsor to the Collaboration Network. Open sessions; match Guides; pay Guides per completed session; send the mid-program progress note. Issue the impact report and participant stories; recognize sponsors at the showcase; issue sponsor certificates; offer the Lead Sponsor its priority place in the next program.
Theme Sponsor Complete the form or book a call; name one contact; confirm scope and internal approval. Send the USDT contribution; join onboarding; approve the program name (Lead Sponsor) and announcement. Optional: your people apply as Guides. Optionally share the announcement with your network; review the progress note. Your Guides, if any, complete verification and host sessions. Attend the showcase; receive the report and certificate. Lead Sponsor confirms within [30 days] whether to continue.

Good to Know

  • Your partnership is with CED, which designs and delivers the program. During the pilot, Kambria holds contributions for CED, and Kambria supports the pilot and its partnerships — so you will likely meet both teams.
  • CED is a DAO, not a registered charity, so contributions are not tax-deductible. You receive the on-chain transaction record and a written acknowledgement.
  • Full terms: Terms & Conditions for Theme Sponsors (DEP 3).
