CED Sessions allow Explorers and Guides to not only chat but also practice specific Subjects together – for example, crafting a recycled item.

For practical Sessions, CED supports Explorers using two devices:

• Phone: For chatting and capturing your practice actions
  
• Laptop or Tablet: For observing the SeniorBuddy’s actions or shared screen 

This guide helps you set up your devices based on each practical subject.

Subject-Specific Setup Instructions

A. Chess

Required Devices

• 1 smartphone with a stand
  
• 1 laptop or tablet
  
• Tools: Chessboard
  

Device Setup

Device 1 – Smartphone

• Place the phone on the stand, raised ~40 cm
  
• Tilt the phone at a 50–60° angle
  
• Position it opposite your seat, behind the chessboard
  

Device 2 – Laptop/Tablet

• Place it on your left or right side for easy viewing and interaction 

B. Drawing

Required Devices

• 1 smartphone with a stand
  
• 1 laptop or tablet
  
• Tools: Painting set 

Device Setup

Device 1 – Smartphone

• Raise the phone on the stand ~40 cm
  
• Tilt at 15–20°
  
• Position it on your right side to capture the painting process
  

Device 2 – Laptop/Tablet

• Place it on your left side for observing and interacting with the Guide 

C. Knitting

Required Devices

• 1 smartphone with a stand
  
• 1 laptop or tablet
  
• Tools: Knitting set
  

Device Setup

Device 1 – Smartphone

• Raise the phone on the stand ~40 cm
  
• Tilt at 15–20°
  
• Position it on your right side to capture the knitting process
  

Device 2 – Laptop/Tablet

• Place it on your left side for communication and observation 

D. Digital Literacy

Required Devices

• Used for performing actions and communication
  
• Use screen sharing so the Guide can observe your actions
  (Instructions provided in the next section)
  

Device 2 – Laptop/Tablet

• Position it on your left side to watch your Guide’s instructions 

E. Recycled Crafts

Required Devices

• 1 smartphone with a stand
  
• 1 laptop or tablet
  
• Tools: Recycled craft kit

Device 1 – Smartphone

• Raise the phone ~40 cm
  
• Tilt at 15–20°
  
• Position it on your right side to capture your crafting actions
  

Device 2 – Laptop/Tablet

• Place it on your left side for following the Guide 

F. Meditation (Sitting on the Floor)

Required Devices

• 1 smartphone with a stand
  
• Tools: Sitting cushion
  

Device Setup

• Raise the smartphone 30–40 cm
  
• Position it directly in front of you, about 1.2 meters away
  
• Ensure stable network connection 

G. Meditation (Sitting on a Chair)

Required Devices

• 1 smartphone with a stand
  
• 1 laptop
  
• Tools: Chair and table
  

Device Setup

Device 1 – Smartphone

• Raise the smartphone 10–20 cm
  
• Position it on the table, 75 cm to 1 m away from your sitting spot
  

Device 2 – Laptop

• Place the laptop behind the phone, connected to the network 

H. Face Yoga

Required Device

• Raise the phone 30–40 cm, at face level
• Position it directly in front of you, 30–40 cm away
