Enable or Disable a Guide Role

Estimated reading: 3 minutes 31 views

The Enable/Disable Guide Role feature allows Guides to control whether their Guide role is available for new interactions on the CED platform.

Once your Guide role has been verified, the Enable or Disable button will appear on the Role screen. You can use this feature at any time to temporarily enable or disable your Guide role without affecting your registration, qualification, or existing data.

  • Enabled – Your Guide role is active and your topics are available for new interactions and registrations. Explorers can discover your Topics, view your Sessions, and create new bookings.
  • Disabled – Your Guide role is temporarily unavailable for new bookings while preserving your role information, qualifications, and activity history.

What happens when your Guide role is disabled?

When your Guide role is disabled:

  • Your Topics and Sessions remain visible on the CED platform so Explorers can continue browsing your content.
  • A "Time-off mode" label is displayed on your Topic Details page.
  • Explorers can still access your Topic Details, but they cannot create new bookings.
  • The Book Session button is disabled, and a message “Guide unavailable. Please try booking later” is displayed informing Explorers that the Guide is temporarily unavailable for booking.
  • Any sessions that were booked before your Guide role was disabled remain unchanged and continue as scheduled.
  • Your Topics, Sessions, booking history, qualifications, and other Guide data are preserved.
  • You can enable your Guide role again at any time to resume accepting new bookings.
