Terms & Conditions for Projects

(Applicants are not asked to sign a separate agreement. The registration form ends with a consent — "I have read and agree to the Terms & Conditions for Projects" — and these are those terms. Written plainly on purpose; this is not a contract, it's a shared understanding of how taking part works.)

By applying to the DEP 3 Call for Projects, you confirm you have read and agree to the following.

1 · What DEP 3 is. DEP 3 is an open experiment. If your project is selected, a DAO is built around it as a channel to scale its impact through community. The DAO is not a restructuring or a takeover of your project — your project stays what it is, and the DAO is something it gains alongside it.

2 · Participation is public and documented. The cohort runs transparently and is documented openly — including honest accounts of what works and what doesn't. Your project's participation, progress, and results may be described in DEP documentation, updates, and the closing showcase.

3 · Use of your project's name, logo, images, and materials. You grant Kambria permission to use your project's name, logo, images, and shared materials to document the cohort and to promote DEP and its participants — in the DEP documentation, the showcase, Kambria's websites and social channels, and through its ambassador network. Attribution is given wherever practical. You confirm you have the right to share the materials you provide, and that any people identifiable in them have agreed to appear. If specific materials should not be used, you can tell us — at application or any time after — and we will respect that.

4 · The seed funding is the DAO's capital, not money paid to the project. A selected project's DAO receives $3,000 in seed funding from Kambria — starting capital that gets the DAO's work moving. This is Kambria's contribution into the DAO: like any fund contributor, Kambria holds LP for it and shares pro-rata in whatever revenue the DAO earns (see Categorisation & Revenue Split). The $3,000 belongs to the DAO — the team built around your project — and is spent, transparently through the Kambria DAOs Framework, on the agreed collaboration that scales your project's impact. It is not a cash grant paid to the project or its owners, not a loan to be repaid, and not an investment in your project — Kambria's stake is in the DAO, and it takes no equity or stake in your project itself. How the DAO spends it is decided within the DAO and recorded in full.

5 · Intellectual property. Your project keeps its own identity and its own intellectual property. Work the DAO creates during the cohort, and any on-chain anchoring of that work, is handled under DEP's IP framework, with the source community and contributors recognised. Nothing here transfers ownership of your existing solution or brand.

6 · Your data. The information you submit is used to assess your application and, if selected, to onboard your project. It is handled under Kambria's privacy terms and not sold. See the Privacy pages in this documentation.

7 · Selection is not guaranteed. Meeting the criteria makes a project eligible, not selected. Kambria selects three projects at its discretion, for fit with the cohort.

8 · If selected, what you commit to. Taking part in the cohort's rhythms (running the DAO through Owned Lanes, the weekly check-ins, the All-DAOs Syncs), working in the open on the shared framework, and approaching it as a genuine experiment — trying the model and sharing what you learn.

9 · Your team takes part, but does not control the DAO. Your project's own team is welcome to join the DAO and take full part — owning lanes, contributing, and voting. To keep the DAO genuinely community-governed, the project's own people together make up no more than the DAO's quorum threshold (currently 34% of the DAO), so that no governance decision can be carried or blocked by the project team alone.

10 · The practical conditions apply. Reliable internet access, and cryptocurrency not being banned where your members are, as described in the Qualification Criteria.

11 · Taking part is voluntary, and can end. Participation is voluntary and can be ended by either side if the collaboration isn't working, under DEP's alignment and termination policies. Ending participation is handled respectfully and in the open.
