DAO Drive Folder Guide

Estimated reading: 3 minutes 62 views

Welcome to your DAO Shared Drive

This folder is the central library for your DAO's plans, proposals, reports, evidence, trackers, and creative work. Please help keep it organized so everyone can find, reference, and build on the DAO's work.

Folder structure overview

The drive has two main areas:

Main folder Purpose Access
DAO Shared Library The official record — approved plans, reports, templates, and the learning archive View only
DAO Working Files The live workspace — the Workbook, drafts, evidence, and work-in-progress Editable

Inside DAO Shared Library (view only)

Subfolder Purpose
Master Plan Your DAO's approved Master Plan for the cohort
Approved Lane Proposals Lane proposals that were voted and accepted
Approved Reports Final monthly summaries and the end-of-cohort report
Governance & Templates The DAO Operating Playbook, and the Master Plan / Lane Proposal templates
Launch Kits The starter pack for each lane
Learning Archive Reflections, stories, and key insights from the journey

✅ These are official — don't modify them. Make a copy if you want to comment or build on one.

Inside DAO Working Files (editable)

Subfolder Purpose
DAO Workbook Your DAO's live trackers in one sheet — contributions, pay-per-task, budget, and the Cashbook
Draft Proposals & Reports Master Plan and lane proposal drafts, and reports before submission
Evidence & Receipts Evidence for completed tasks (for verification), and every financial receipt, invoice, or on-chain screenshot (linked from the Cashbook)
Deliverable Working Files Work-in-progress content, creative work, and materials
Internal Planning Notes Notes, brainstorms, schedules
Partner Materials (If your DAO runs partnerships) the DAO Partner Outreach Playbook and partner assets — DAO-internal

✅ These are actively editable by DAO members.

✅ Keep the DAO Workbook at the top of this folder — it's the sheet you'll touch most.

File naming convention

To keep things searchable, name new files:

[YYYY-MM-DD] - [File Type] - [Short Description]

Examples:

  • 2027-01-20 - Master Plan - Draft v1
  • 2027-02-10 - Lane Proposal - Outreach & Campaign
  • 2027-03-05 - Evidence - Session 3 recording
  • 2027-03-31 - Report - Month 2 summary
  • 2027-04-15 - Receipt - Canva subscription

✅ Always include the full date (year-month-day), and keep descriptions clear.

Working guidelines

  • Don't move or delete existing files without checking with your pair or DAO Lead first.
  • Drafts can be freely updated in DAO Working Files.
  • Final, approved documents move into the DAO Shared Library after review.
  • Respect view-only permissions — make a copy if you want to change a final document.
  • Store every receipt and every piece of task evidence here, and paste its link into the Workbook — no evidence, no verification; no receipt, no reimbursement.

Quick reminders

  • Organize drafts into the right subfolders so the DAO can collaborate smoothly.
  • Use clear, respectful language in shared documents.
  • Your DAO Facilitators can help review and tidy the folders as the cohort runs.

Thank you for keeping the DAO clear and organized — we're building shared knowledge for future decentralized builders.
