Frequently Asked Questions About TECD

How long does a Session last?

Estimated reading: 1 minute 18 views

The standard duration of a Session is 45 minutes.

To ensure the quality of Session content, TECD specifies:

  • SeniorBuddies must attend at least 80% of the standard Session duration, which means a minimum of 36 minutes for a 45-minute Session. If the Session lasts less than 36 minutes, TECD will ask the Senior to confirm that the Session has been completed.
  • On the other hand, if Seniors and SeniorBuddies are more than 15 minutes late or leave the Session for over 15 minutes, TECD will automatically terminate the Session to avoid disrupting the user experience.

Seniors and SeniorBuddies can extend the Session beyond the standard duration if both parties agree.

  • For example, if the conversation is engaging and enjoyable, and both Seniors and SeniorBuddies wish to continue, they can propose and agree to extend the Session. However, if one party cannot adjust their schedule or does not wish to extend, they can decline.
  • The extension time cannot exceed 60 minutes beyond the registered Session time (e.g., if the Session is registered from 3:15 PM to 4:00 PM, the Session will automatically end at 5:00 PM if extended).
